Hear Nigel tell the story of the First Circumnavigation of Iceland by Kayak, and how such an expedition came about. Rewind to a time before dry suits, cellphones, the home computer, and the World Wide Web, twenty years before Google came onto the scene. With no hand-held waterproof VHF radios, or GPS, with no way to remotely access a weather forecast, is anyone for curried seagull? Nigel’s presentation expands on some of the stories he tells in his newly released, 2023 book, Iceland by Kayak. Olympia Mountaineers welcome members and non-members to join at 6pm.
