Kayak across France, Foster's latest book is about an escapade inspired by Foster's early adventure from the English Channel to the Mediterranean Sea, through the Champagne region.

On a second journey, in balmy September,  Foster and his wife Kristin Nelson kayaked from the Mediterranean along the scenic 17th century Canal Du Midi to Toulouse, and onward through Bordeaux to the Atlantic Ocean. Wines and local dishes, Medieval towns and villages, tales of crusades and tidal bores. A fun getaway!
